All the ice is off Torch. All of it. I promise. Marc Anderson and the Dockworks crew have been putting in docks all over the place. See the dock in the new banner up top? No more ice.
Pine Hill Nursery is open and full of flowers. Smells good, too.
There are cunning little catkins and bright little buds on the trees. Blue skies. Blue water. Just like you remember it.
Come on home now. Next thing you know there’ll be blossoms on the cherry trees. You wouldn’t want to miss that. We’ll save you a cinnamon roll at Sonny’s. The snowpile is going, going . . .

It’s real nice but I just found out that Maya doesn’t like waves! She tries to bite them, it’s like she’s trying to protect me from them or something. The lake was okay as long as it was ice but now…..

Miss Sadie used to bite the waves, too. Eventually she felt she’d mastered them, and now she just splashes along on the shoreline completely unfazed. Maya needs to have some doggie friends to teach her the ropes. The Cowboy would most likely be a bad influence, but Miss Sadie . . . We should arrange a play date on the beach for Maya and Miss Sadie. With treats. OK, we can bring some for the dogs too.

I think I need to stop reading! It makes me want to hop in my car and drive all the way there without stopping! I promise to work some on my book this summer.

Heh heh. This is my plan. Come baa-ack Summer People . . . come baa-aaack . . . If I had highspeed internet I’d be deadly – there would be sounds on this blog – waves and wind and small creatures. There would be videos – sun on the water, gulls in the air, Miss Sadie and the Cowboy dancing for joy. No one could resist the lure. Come baa-aaack . . . This is a great place to work on a book.

ALL these images made me smile! The red blush of maple buds on trees reminded me of the end of winter in Florida–glad it’s reaching this far north for us.

We make progress. But I wouldn’t mind a little faster progress!
