As you know, Miss Sadie, the Cowboy and I have been having a little vacation. We visited Rob the Firefighter and the Lady Alicia in Detroit. They live in a Mies van der Rohe-designed townhouse in Lafayette Park with my granddogs, Fred and Lucy.  It’s perfect: floor to ceiling windows perfect for squirrel watching, slate floors impervious to muddy paws and drool, and a kitchen full of good things to eat.

The Cowboy positioned himself strategically to catch any food that might go astray.

Alicia cooked. Well, she did lots of other nice things, too, but the cooking part was particularly effective.

I admired the new glass tiles in the kitchen and, um, fully appreciated the cooking.
