Thanks, Leslie – it occurs to me that this is not the beginning of springtime for you. Hope you’re having a lovely late summer.

Me, too. I’m eaten with jealousy because Babs did the Peeps post. I bought some pink rabbits specifically for this purpose, but then I got sidetracked putting one in the microwave to test a tale told to me at the IGA . . . then I had to clean up the mess in the microwave and by the time I had further thoughts the remaining rabbits were hard as rocks and Miss Sadie and the Cowboy begged to have them so there you go. Beaten out once again by Babs Young, Cub Reporter.

Peeps are cool chicks. This year, we had not just yellow ones, but purple peeps too for the first time ever. To my amazement, my brother’s kids had edible grass lining their Easter baskets. Wonders never cease.

Well, what happens when you put peeps in the microwave? Tell all please and I’ll tell you what my brother did in their (mostly) white kitchen with black beans last week or what I did with eggs when hard boiling them but forgot about them cooking.

They puff up. And puff up. And puff up. And then they collapse in a gooey mess. It was very entertaining. I, um, heard about the Incident of the Black Beans from the miscreant himself, and swore not to tell the tale. But you could tell the tale . . . So, exploding eggs, eh?
