Spiritual refreshment

I’ve been taking a lot of pictures of sacred spaces. I didn’t set out to do it.  It just happened.  There was the Wayside Chapel tucked into the post about Friske’s Market. There was an assignment from the Antrim Review about the 125th Anniversary of First Congregational Church in Central Lake

Six miles up M-88 the Eastport Baptist Church is also marking its 125th anniversary.  I generally pause to read the sign. One day it said “God does wonders with the pieces of a broken heart.” On the other side it advertised the Sportsmen’s Banquet fundraiser. I liked it, but elected to take the picture without it, as God was also doing wonders with the early evening light on the snow.

Then there was the day when everything looked like one of those sentimental postcards that fill revolving wire racks in every gas station and convenience store in the north country. Blue skies, sweeping clouds, tall pines—you know the ones I mean. Sometimes there’s a bear or an elk involved. I love those postcards. Here’s one just for you. I wish I could inscribe it with “Greetings from Eden Shores” in script in the upper left hand corner. That would make it perfect.

Picture Postcard Day

Peace out.
