From snow in Blue Heaven to blues in snow heaven

Pity the poor schussers and telemarkers, sledders and shredders.  Babs Young reminds us that just last week, on Christmas Eve, this is what it was like in Blue Heaven:

Christmas Eve snow in Blue Heaven

Then came balmy winds, swirling fog, rain.  Rain for crying out loud.  Today, snow lovers all over the North Country—not to mention their hapless hosts—are singing the blues.

Don’t know whyyyyy
There’s no snow up in the sky
Stormy weather
Since the fog and wind
Got together
It’s raining all the time . . .

Trails are bare
Gloom and mis’ry everywhere
Stormy weather
Just can’t get my poor guests together
I’m weary all the time . . .

Time to haul out the big (snow)guns.  I’m having a nice hot buttered rum toddy and going to bed with a bad book.  Trust me, there will be more snow any minute now and everyone can go out to play in it.
