Help is at hand

Tom finishing the steps December 21Last week my deck and steps were covered in snow on top of ice on top of more snow on top of more ice . . . you get the idea. I tackled it with my trusty chopper and shovel, but I wasn’t making a whole lot of progress. Then I got Tom Morrison over here and in no time at all and at a very reasonable cost he had it all cleared off.

That was then. This is now.  It has been snowing off and on all week.  Tonight we get extra special treats: sleet and freezing rain and—yes! more delightful snow!  Wait, it gets better.  Tomorrow we are promised a nice warm rain.  You might think that would be a big help.  If you think that you do not live in snow country.  (Where do you live?  May we come visit you?  If we can get out the driveway?)

My steps this morning

I am calling Tom again. You can call him, too, but only on weekends, because he has a day job as a certified mechanic at Marathon Automotive in Traverse City.  He’s happy to do all kinds of odd jobs in addition to shoveling and de-icing.  I put a new listing for Chore & Maintenance Services over there on the right under “In Business in Torch Lake Township.”  Tom’s on there, along with my plow guy, Dale Reedy. I am too good to you.

If you are here, drive carefully.  If you are somewhere sunny and warm, stop chortling!  Chortling is unseemly, and besides it makes wrinkles.
