Betsy King at King Orchards is offering visitors free samples of dried cherries. Such a deal! Besides, you really should take a look at the Kings’ website. There’s more stuff there about cherries than you can possibly imagine. Kids from cherry-deprived places like Iowa and Delaware probably swipe whole pages for their term papers. If you’re reading this in Florida, what are you waiting for??? Quick, visit Betsy and ask her to send you dried cherries. You know you need ’em.

Thanks for reminding me it’s National Cherry Month. I would have remembered sooner or later, but sooner is better. Don’t the orchards look lovely in silhouette against the snow?

Yes they do! We’re getting a little sunshine over here today – I may have to go out and get that shot . . .

I’m glad the samples are ready, Betsy. I’ve been checking the sitemeter, and apparently nothing draws people to Torch Lake Views like the promise of free dried cherries – not even Cowboy, the dog on snowshoes!

I make a great chicken salad with dried cherries.
